Happy Halloween

While organizing pictures, I found a few pictures from many years ago where my sister and I dressed up in my mother's costumes. She always went to these cool Halloween parties where we weren't invited, but she always let us share in the fun of her costumes!

I'm probably about 9 here! I'm the one on the right. That's my sis as Scarlet on the left.

And here's my mom on the right!

13 of My Favorite Characters

Happy Halloween everyone! Because it's Halloween, I thought it would be fun to list my 13 favorite characters, though it doesn't mean they're my favorite costume dress-up characters. In fiction, these characters were made real with their personalites and background. And I just love their attitudes! These are the tpe of characters who will live on forever. Characters I can watch over and over again and not grow bored. Do you see any similarities? Who are your favorites?

(These are in no specific order)

1. Captain Jack Sparrow
2. Jason Bourne
3. Bruce Wayne, AKA Batman
4. Peter Parker, AKA Spiderman
5. Clark Kent, AKA Superman
6. Scarlet O’Hara
7. Will Turner
8. Puss N’Boots
9. Iron-Man
10. Elizabeth Swann
11. Wolverine
12. Lightning McQueen
13. Bridget Jones

13 Reasons to Embrace Your Creativity

1. I’m not a painter or a poet
2. though I like to pain and write poems.
3. My paint-by-numbers won’t get me in a gallery
4. and you won’t hear my songs on the radio.
5. But art is a process,
6. and creativity comes in all shapes and sizes.
7. It’s the initial idea,
8. the enjoyment of doing
9. that really counts.
10. Life is an art and art is life,
11. so embrace your art, your creativity, and your ideas.
12. Embrace your personality
13. and continue to grow!

13 Ways to Procrastinate

A writer's life truly is never dull. There's nothing worse than having the idea but not being able to project those ideas onto a page. Here's 13 things to do instead.

1. Check your email
2. Check your second email.
3. Check your myspace page.
4. Check your phone to make sure you don't have any missed calls or texts.
5. Rummage through the refrigerator when you don't there's nothing in there to eat.
6. Stare at the computer screen in hopes that the words will just type themselves.
7. Check your email again. Maybe someone replied to your earlier message.
8. Watch videos on Youtube.
9. Nibble on a piece of cheese.
10. Text hubby.
11. Post a blog about procrastinating.
12. Walk through the house. It seems like you forgot to do something early.

And finally...

13. Turn on your Ipod to drown out the rest of the noise and just WRITE!

What I did on my day off...

Stayed in my PJs
Got some good writing done on my current work-in-progress
Said a prayer of thanks
Organized my computer
Changed some of my pictures to icons to make it less boring
Got lost in my pictures
Checked my myspace page, which I haven’t done in ages
Checked email a couple of times (what a waste!)
Brushed my teeth after lunch
Still have half a day left to play...

Ahhh.....aren’t holidays wonderful?

Please Vote!

Please vote for ONE WRONG MOVE in the New Covey Trailer Awards.

I'd post it here, but unfortunately due to a lightning strike burnning out my computer and the fact I'm still trying to filter though everything, I can't find a copy of my trailer except what I posted online. But it's there on their site.

1. Staring at a blank page
2. and not having the words to fill it.
3. The blank page staring back, taunting you.
4. These ideas fill your head
5. but you can’t form the words.
6. You throw your hands up in despair,
7. ready to give up.
8. But then, an inkling, at the most inopportune time.
9. You may be in the shower, at work, or driving,
10. where writing isn’t an option.
11. You have a voice recorder, a cell phone, or a small notepad,
12. and you know you must write it down before you forget.
13. And now the page isn’t so blank.
